EL PINAR - CIUDAD DE LA COSTA - URUGUAY

El Pinar is a place of Ciudad de la Costa (City of the Coast ) in the department of Canelones in Uruguay, close to the Río de la Plata, between the Carrasco and the Pando brook in the department of Canelones. 
Ciudad de la Costa (City of the Coast) is considered an extension of the city of Montevideo and it borders with this one. It belongs to the metropolitan area of this city and it is characterised by its beautiful beaches.

El Pinar is located in the kilometer 28.500m of the Avenida Giannattasio, only 10 min. away from the Carrasco Airport. It is the last place formed in the Ciudad de la Costa (City of the Coast) of Canelones. It is close to the Pando brook and to the Road Toll to Punta del Este, where the Costa de Oro (Golden Coast) starts. It is also accessible from the Ruta Interbalnearia from the km 28 to 31 and enjoys an excelent transport, a bus every 7 minutes.

Inside the different places from Ciudad de la Costa (City of the Coast ), El Pinar is characterised by a fine white sand and one can make long walks by foot and only a few people are seen during a long time. The beaches of El Pinar are the best that exist along the Ciudad de la Costa (City of the Coast). Its name is due to the great amount of pines that live there.

The most attractive zone of the coast of El Pinar is where the mouth of the Pando brook comes into the Río de la Plata, specially during the midday, when the sand is even more clear and it reminds the beaches in the Caribbean. 

The Pando brook is an excellent place for water sports, in the tennis club of El Pinar you can play tennis, swimm, make some gymnastics, paddle and in the School of the Municipality one can practice archevy.
